“I was surprised to say the least,” Staley said. “To find out that I had won an award I didn’t even know I was nominated for was very surprising, but in a good way.”

“It provides us a chance to showcase our school and community,” Slavens said. “It is a major fundraiser for our school booster club which helps support all of our school sports. It provides our athletes an opportunity to compete in the biggest meet of the year right here at home.”

She tries her hardest to make it balanced, but I still get benefits.”
