Q & A

How long have you been involved in basketball? : The first time I played basketball was back at the YMCA and Upward in elementary school and into 6th grade. And then I have been playing since 7th grade through the schools.

What is your favorite memory surrounding PHS basketball? : My sophomore year against Coffeyville at home when I made my first ever varsity bucket. Or my junior year when on JV, when I made my first ever in game 3-pointer.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to join PHS basketball? : No matter what your skill level is there is always something for you to do on the team whether it is filling up waters on the bench and cheering the team on, or getting the varsity guys better by trying your hardest at practice, or getting in the game itself.

What has been your favorite part of the 2024-25  basketball season so far? : Getting the opportunity to play basketball as a dragon one more time before graduation.

Q & A

How long have you been involved in basketball? : I have been playing basketball all of my life, but I’ve been a part of the dragons since 5th grade.

What is your favorite memory surrounding PHS basketball? : My favorite memory would have to be going to state and being able to be a sophomore and getting to play to the end of the game to make the team go to state was a really great experience.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to join PHS basketball? : To work hard, I feel like no matter if you’re good or not matter if you’re bad, if you’re not working hard then you won’t succeed. As long as you work hard and you’re putting forth the effort it doesn’t matter what you’re doing. Knowing your job and doing it will get you far in basketball.

What has been your favorite part of the 2024-25  basketball season so far? : My favorite part of the season so far I would have to say was the Bill Hanson tournament in the game against Willard. Even though we lost I saw a lot of our players being able to show that we can score, and show that we are efficient on both sides of the ball. Knowing that we lost just showed that we are still a team no matter what and the Carl Junction game. Two games that we lost, but we played very hard.

Even though I know I didn’t wrestle my very best at the crosstown I’m still so proud of my team for coming out on top and winning the trophy for us, and that just showed how determined we are as a team.
